A pack, not a printout
A useful monthly pack answers a short list of recurring questions: how did we trade, where is cash going, and what needs a decision this month. Everything else is supporting detail.
Consistency beats depth
The same measures, prepared the same way, month after month, allow trends to be seen. Frequent redefinition of measures destroys comparability.
Close the loop
Each pack should end with actions and owners. Reporting that does not lead to a decision is administration.
